As part of a data science internship program at Microsoft, I worked on building
cloud services (Azure Machine Learning), assisting senior leadership (C-Levels)
on strategic decisions based on data analytics (which involved data visualization
and statistics), analyzing user behaviors on Xbox Live (which included pattern
recognition), recommending playlist additions for featured users (music
recommendations involved genre classification, song lyrics interpretation,
similarity measurement), and creating video/image annotation tools using Kaldi
(a speech recognition software) and Magenta framework which would be used for
showcasing deep learning models. In addition to programming skill requirements
specified in this position description, I'm confident that my experience also
satisfies business acumen expectations. In my spare time, I continue learning
about artificial intelligence techniques. Last month I read about generative
adversarial networks (GANs). Last year it was variational autoencoders (VAEs).
By making a habit of keeping up with AI trends like these two, I feel
confident in my ability to keep pushing forward toward innovative solutions
which no one else has yet considered.
